Dale Earnhardt's Daytona 500 winning car at Daytona USA. My wife Linda and I wanted to be sure we went there while Dale's car was there. Dale, the Master of Daytona, finally has his name on the Harlan Trophy which Linda is looking at.

| We even got to visit the pit lane starting with John Andretti's pit.

Our tickets included Hospitality Suite passes courtesy of Kohler which is an associate sponsor on the STP Pontiac. John Andretti showed up and gave everyone autographs. They had good food and cold beer and we were right behind where our seats were in the stands.

| The cars are beginning to line up for the start of the race. Pictured are the cars of Bobby Labonte, Dale Jarret, Rusty Wallace, and Jeff Gordon. |
We walked along the Tri-Oval which is steep but it is only baked 14 degrees as opposed to 31 degrees in the turns.

Dale Earnhardt coming out of the pits in 1st.
Dale was still in the lead with 87 laps to go. We had a rain storm come through and delay the race twice. Once briefly and once for a while longer with 6 laps to go. |
After the race was over, there was a very nice and very big fireworks show. It was a nice ending to a great weekend. We then spent over an hour getting back to our hotel. Our parking spot was excellent but they close off many roads or make them one way once the race is over. |
